• Which stage of a listening lesson do you think is the most important?:

I think the pre-listening is the most important because in this stage, students will know the topic of the listening, they can imagine what will happen in the listening and the vocabulary which relate to the listening

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

This state relates to the content and the vocabulary of the listening, so students have difficulties in visualize what will happen in the text and don't know the words relating.

• What are some concrete examples that support your reasons for your choice?:

EX: the topic is about the weather. the students must visualize what is about the weather.

example: temperature, place...

the words: cool, cold, hot.......

If they know the words and the contents of the listening, they will listen clearly.

In my opinion, I think pre-listening is the most important. 

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

This stage orient student to what they are going to listen. The basic introduction in this stage will ease listening process and help Ss choose suitable strategies during completing task.

• What are some concrete examples that support your reasons for your choice?:

For example, some simple questions about the topic helps to test background knowledge, somes key words or pictures helps Ss to guess the topic or even predict the main idea of the tape.

I think the pre-listening is the most important because in this stage, students will know the topic of the listening, they can imagine what will happen in the listening and the vocabulary which relate to the listening.

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

-Students don't  know about the topic/theme they are going to listen.  Poor of vocabulary , so ss can't understand the content of the text/dialogue.

EX: the topic is about the weather. the students must visualize what is about the weather.

Ss don't have enough vocabulary to understand the passage or dialogue. It is mother tongue that leads the students to misunderstand the conservations

- after hearing many times, Ss can't understand anything

- They can't do good tasks

I think pre-listening state is the most inportant Because this stage helps students to generate interest, build confidence and to facilitate comprehension.  This stage helps them  to Set the context, Generate interest, activate current knowledge - what do you know about…?,  acquire knowledge, activate vocabulary / language , predict content and  give your students plenty of time to read and understand the main listening comprehension tasks, you allow them to get some idea of the content of the listening. They may even try to predict answers before listening.

 This state relates to thetopic, the content and the vocabularies of the listening, so students have difficulties in visualize what will happen in the text and don't know the words relating to do the task.

to complete about Mi hobby. we can give some information such as: 

name of the hobby.......,?

 when to start........,? 

what you do ............?

Whos share with you.........?

How do you feel...........?

It's pre listening, because it's time for Ss to get language input (vocabulary, structure).

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

Their lack of vocabulary. The Ss can hear the sound but they cannot write down the words. And then sometimes they cannot understand what the recording is about.

• What are some concrete examples that support your reasons for your choice?:

When doing the task "listen and  fill in the blank" many Ss can't write the missing words.


• Which stage of a listening lesson do you think is the most important?:

I assume that it is pre-listening. The explanation for this would be that in this stage students are  provided vocabulary and context so that they are able to imagine what they will listen in this lesson. And it's also the time they can ask questions is necessary.

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

This stage allows students to predict the content of listening text. If teacher skip this stage, students will be accidental when starting to listen. And they may find it challenging to keep up to with the audio.

• What are some concrete examples that support your reasons for your choice?:

For example when they listen about colour, they need to be learned some colours first such as red, yellow, green or purple. Unless they know these colours, they will not grasp meaning of the audio.

Attending to the message is perhaps the most important part of the receiving stage because sounds have no meaning to them until they're given context. During this stage, try to avoid thinking about other things while the speaker is talking to ensure no information is missed

• In your experience, how does this stage relate to problems you may have observed that your students have with listening?:

 ss are lack of background of the topic/theme

- pour new words

- can't write answers to the questions

This stage helps students focus on the topic of the lesson.they will know what they are going to listen and how to do the tasks

Example: show a pictute and asks sts to answer the questions
