My favourite speaking activity is discussing. I know this activity when I studied at Vinh university. Actually, my teachers used this one very often. I would say that we discussed topics in each lesson, we gave opinions about issued around. I found this activity so intriguing and it helped me improve my speaking skill and my knowlede.

Discussing activity is suitable with students who are in higher level. This is simply due to the fact that students need to have good grammar, good speaking skill and wide knowlege to express their viewpoints which also let them practice critical thinking. But it shouldn't last too long. It's perfect to discuss a topic in 5-7 minutes. Students will listen others' opinions and give their own viepoints, whether they agree or not. And they also need to give explanation and example to strengthen their opinions.

I find this activity so useful. First, it allows students to rivise what they have learnt in the lesson by showing their opinions. Besides, students will be able to practice speaking and listening. They also can accumulate knowledge to upgrade their English.
