Computational linguistics has gradually removed the distance in the communication between computers and human beings. The development of computational linguistics is seen as a fact involving a long history from it was first thought as an idea to today's great achievements. However, provided that it were not available in technology, what would happen?

First, the concept of ‘artificial intelligence’ would be thought of in different ways and what is called as intelligence is a constitution of a ton of complicated programs created to recognize the language and deliver responses that may make no sense.

Second, people would continue to exploit information manually from the internet, which they would need to select and filter the suitable one that suits their demand.

Third, learning with individual efforts would be crucial to achieving success as there would be no involvement of correspondingly provided information from a virtual assistant like Chat GPT. Educators would reduce their worry about their students’ ability.

Last, but not least, the world's technology would witness no significant changes and retain the same features in its innovations and inventions.

In conclusion, computational linguistics has painted the picture of our life with more colors and enabled it to be more lively. Without computational linguistics, life would continue to struggle with the day-by-day surging amount of data.

If computational linguistics did not exist, advancements in natural language processing, machine translation, speech recognition, and text analysis would be severely limited, hindering the development of effective human-computer interaction and reducing the efficiency and accuracy of language-related technologies.

It would be clear that computational linguistics has had a number of important effects on technology, communication, and society:

If machine translation was limited, there would be no services like Google Translate that use computer language to translate text. It would be very hard for people who speak different languages to talk to each other in real time and easily. This would make travel, foreign business, and cultural exchanges much harder.

Not Good Enough Speech Recognition and Synthesis: Voice assistants (like Siri and Alexa), automatic transcription services, and text-to-speech apps would not work at all or would be very basic. People with challenges, like those who use speech-to-text tools to communicate, would have a harder time getting to these places.
