In my opinion, using these algorithms is considered as a way to survey data collected previously so that you can get a general look and give an objective comment to it. I remember that all of us also learned this kind of math in secondary school, exactly in grade 7. It is not difficult to understand, do not worry too much about it because there are other math assignment waiting us :3
